San Antonio SEO shares 7 facts that everyone needs to learn about search engine optimization before spending money!
Here’s a terrifying fact…
I speak with many business owners on a regular basis about search engine optimization and their business. Did you know that about 90% of business owners pay for search engine optimization services? And if they’re not paying for SEO, they’re paying money to an Internet marketer for some type of online advertising.
But there’s a catch…
These business owners are seeing hardly any results if they see any results at all. The benefits, unfortunately, are minimal at best.
But things get worse…
The business owners that I speak to are paying out big bucks for these services. We’re not talking about spare change that you find between the seats of your car. Oh no. This is serious cash and big marketing budgets that make no return on investment. These businesses might as well drop this money out of an airplane and watch it float away.
To make the perspective even clearer, let’s understand that this goes way beyond search engine optimization. Companies can pay a thousand dollars or more per month for a YellowPages.com ad or an ad in any other phone book or website, and this investment could do nothing for your business.
I’ve met more than my fair share of business owners that have paid SEO consultants thousands of dollars per month. And the unfortunate thing is that these businesses were taken for a ride. They never achieved first page Google rankings. They never received any targeted search engine traffic through keyword research whatsoever. They paid for smoke and mirrors and nothing more.
Then there’s the opposite side of things…
Now let’s take a look at a different type of business owner. Let’s take a look at the business owner that only spends a couple hundred bucks a month for search engine optimization services. And as you can imagine, these low-cost SEO services in San Antonio provide zero value. Zilch. Zip. Nada.
It really stinks when this happens. Good businesses can suffer from serious harm by throwing away their advertising dollars, and this money could have been spent and put to good use in other ways. Businesses need their advertising dollars to be effective in order to survive, and it’s ridiculous to expect them to throw them away on horrible SEO services in San Antonio that will do nothing for the company.
Most importantly, I feel tremendous pain when good businesses – and the good people that run them – get used and abused like this. I hate it when companies
get burned – and ultimately go down in flames – because they were tricked into believing that the latest SEO gimmick would help their company.
I understand. I really do. It’s plain to see why business owners are so skeptical about dealing with a San Antonio SEO expert. There are some people that really give this industry a bad name, so business owners have a right to be incredulous.
If you’ve been in business for more than five minutes, you have undoubtedly been emailed, faxed and called by every search engine optimization company within a 100 mile radius of your business. They beg. They grovel. They make insane claims and tell you that they can deliver the goods, when truthfully they are just trying to sell snake oil. Companies get conflicting messages and never know who they should believe. Even you, dear reader, have probably felt the pain and embarrassment of paying good money for crap SEO Expert services at some point in the past.
So please, oh please, continue to stay cynical. There’s so much to lose. Your financial future is literally at stake, and your business could fail if you make the wrong decisions.
Indisputably, your company will thrive and succeed from top-quality San Antonio SEO services. Quite honestly, search engine optimization could be the difference between failing and succeeding in today’s digital business environment.

And if for some reason I can’t work with you…
I’d still like you to have this powerful information, so pay attention to the 7 things that you have to know about search engine optimization in order to achieve success.
Let’s get right to it…
1. What is keyword research and how does it affect my business?
Think about this…
Why would you even want to rank in the search engines for a keyword phrase that nobody looks for? It’s a complete waste of time. It’s a poor way to expend effort. And it’s going to steal away your energy when you could be working on other things.
This is a pointless endeavor for your business. But companies get so excited when they see they’ve got a high first page Google ranking. Unfortunately, that excitement is going to wear away very quickly when the owner of the business realizes that it means nothing for the company.
Pay attention to what I’m about to say next.
If you are contacted by a San Antonio SEO service provider, make sure they know and understand keyword research. If they provide a proposal, make sure that keyword research is the first part of the plan.
If the company doesn’t know or understand keyword research, you have to get out of Dodge. You have to run as fast as you can and never look back. SEO in San Antonio is a complete waste of time if keyword research isn’t part of the plan.
Here’s a pro tip: Google provides keyword data for free if you use their keyword planner. Every so-called SEO provider in San Antonio should have no problem using this tool to find the most relevant phrases in any market, bar none. They are lazy if they do not use this tool or perform keyword research any other way.
And to answer the question as to whether or not they are truly an expert… Hell no! Not if they are avoiding keyword research they aren’t.

2. Is SEO in San Antonio the best thing for your business?
Now that you understand which keywords work best in your market, it’s now time to do the SEO math. It’s the only way to figure out if it’s a viable option for your business.
And it’s incredibly important. This practice will allow you to determine if search engine optimization is going to help you make money or lose it. Nobody wants to lose money. So it’s in your best interest to take the time to do the San Antonio SEO math.
We must consider three factors prior to hiring out for SEO services.
These factors include:
• average lifetime customer value
• available search volume in your market
• the cost of a competent SEO
Minimally, if you managed to snag top dog #1 rankings for the cream of the crop keywords in your market, will the additional business outweigh your search engine optimization costs? This answer is not necessarily simple to come up with, but use the three factors above to help make this determination as best you can.
Other factors are going to come into play as well, including lifetime visitor value and conversions among other things. But to come up with a starting point, use the factors above so that you have a place to begin.
Does your market suffer from low search volume? If so, then search engine optimization might only bring in hundreds of dollars a year. It might not be worth it in the end.
You know there’s always a but, right?
On the other hand…
If you had third-place rankings in San Antonio for a number of excellent keyword phrases in your market, you may just end up bringing in 10 times more than you spend on your search engine optimization budget.
You have to consider the cost of SEO, the potential search volume, and what it means to your business. Is it worth it? Are you going to make more money than you spend? Are you going to really clean up if you dominate your niche?
Are you having a tough time figuring out the SEO math? Feel free to call me at any time because I’d love to help you determine if search optimization is the right choice for your business.
3. How does Google view your website? Do they love it or hate it?
First off, does Google even realize that your website exists? And if they do, do they love it or hate it?
Undergoing a full On Page and Off Page SEO analysis is the best way to find out.
The Four On Page SEO Factors to Consider
1. Does your title page contain the best keywords?
2. Does your content contain the main keyword – or at least a slight variation of it – at least one time?
3. Have you correctly set up the interlinking structure on your website?
4. Do your visitors like the way that your website flows?
This is an excellent place to start, but there is often more to do. If there is something wrong on your site during this stage, the problems are usually simple to fix.
The Four Off Page SEO Factors to Consider:
• How many websites link back to your site?
• Is Google in favor of the sites linking back to your site?
• Are relevant, niche related websites linking back to your site?
• What anchor text do other sites use when linking back to your site?
Just like the other SEO factors, this is a bare-bones place to get started. It’s a great jumping off point to figure out where you need to make corrections.
It’s tough to figure out how to fix Off Page SEO factors if you have not mastered search engine optimization. Call me if you need help, because it’s my area of expertise and I’d love to lend a helping hand.
4. Does your website rank? Does it get traffic from the search engines?
It’s imperative that you have ranking and visitor tracking software set up on your website. If you do not, then it will be impossible to learn this information.
Call us right away if you need help setting this up. It’s necessary for your online success.
Minimally, you must at least have visitor tracking software. The best part is that it’s free. The other best part is that it’s easy to use. It also gives ample amounts of data to analyze.
By having this information, you will see what Google sees. You’ll know how Google categorizes your site. It’s critical information that will tell you which way to go and in which direction to take your website.
5. Does your website have duplicate content?
It’s fairly simple to find out if your site has duplicate content. Go to a website called Copyscape.com and paste your content into their form.
After completing this step, you’ll find out if your content is an original or duplicate.
The Copyscape site will let you know if your content is a duplicate. The best case scenario is to see zero results. Because if there are results, then the content has been published elsewhere on the web.
A quick and easy way to fix this problem is to reword – rewrite – the content so that it becomes an original. Use the Copyscape site again to make sure that you fixed all of the duplicates.
At the end of the day, search engines dislike duplicate content. They will only choose one website to rank highly if content is duplicate – and they are going to pick the website with the greatest authority. It doesn’t even matter if you originally posted the information on the web. If a stronger site is sharing it, they will get the credit in the search engines.
As a San Antonio search engine optimization specialist, I know full well the value of original and fresh content. I wouldn’t consider starting an SEO campaign until I could determine if the content was an original or duplicate. The duplicate content makes it so much harder to rank, and in actuality it could even be impossible.
Never waste any of your marketing budget trying to rank content that is considered a duplicate. Let a top-quality San Antonio search engine optimization specialist fix this broken problem. Call me if you need help because I’m here for you.
6. How much keyword competition exists in your market?
There’s no doubt about it. Some keyword phrases are a lot harder to rank than others. And there will be some phrases that are absolutely impossible. And this is especially true if starting search engine optimization on a brand-new website from scratch. It could take years to rank for difficult, tough phrases when implementing flawed keyword research.
If you plan to hire a search engine optimization consultant in San Antonio, they must know how to evaluate keyword phrases properly. Competing pages aren’t really a big deal. What is a big deal is knowing the competition on the first page, because that’s where you want to be.
Think about it…
Who would you rather play in a basketball game? The Olympic Dream Team or the gradeschool kids on the playground?
If you’re looking to achieve quick success, you want to play the kids on the playground. You want easy competition instead of facing the toughest team in the world.
You should approach search engine optimization the same way. Forget about going after the hardest keywords. Forget about trying to take down the toughest competition. Find high-value, low hanging fruit keyword phrases that are easy to penetrate.
If you mess up this step, it’s going to be so hard to figure out how much money you need to spend to attain first page rankings. This is not a smart way to do business, so analyzing the competition is incredibly important. Do not get this part wrong.
It would stink to wake up six months from now and realize that your search engine optimization efforts in San Antonio don’t mean a damn thing. You don’t want to realize that you have been playing against the Olympic Dream Team all along when you thought you were playing against a bunch of fifth graders. That would be a real slap in the face, so evaluate your competition correctly.
7. Do you know the steps for SEO success in your business?
So, you have a legitimate SEO consultant helping you in San Antonio. Has this company shared their plan of attack with you? Do you know the steps that they will take to get high search engine rankings for your business?
No one is saying that the consultant has to share all details with you. You’re paying them for their knowledge and expertise, and it’s a waste the time to bog you down with all of this information.
But here’s the thing…
You should at least know the general plan. So at least you can get a feel for what they intend to do.
And another thing…
It’s okay if the SEO plan changes as time goes by. Your consultant is going to learn and gather new information as he works on your campaign.
You want a consultant paying close attention to what’s going on. You want somebody willing to make changes midstream in order to improve your results. This is absolutely a good thing.
Let’s wrap it up…
First page Google rankings are the bomb, but they are tough to come by. You need an SEO provider that knows what he’s doing and can knock it out of the park.
I’m your guy. I’d love to help.
